What to expect on your first visitOn your first visit the physiotherapist will take a detailed history from you and then examine the relevant muscles and joints. They will then discuss their findings with you and agree a course of action. As well as treating your present problem we believe it is important to help prevent problems in the future. We will give you advice on injury prevention, working positions, lifting and handling, warm-up and cool-down exercises prior to playing sport. Please bring with you:Any medical notes, referral letters, correspondence, x-rays, scans, results of any investigations you have had in the past and a list of any medication you take. As part of your assessment the physiotherapist will need to examine the area involved and you may need to undress. Please wear suitable underwear or bring a pair of shorts with you. You are welcome to bring a friend or relative to accompany you during your assessment.
